How long is each session and how much does it cost?

Each session is approximately 50 minutes long. Rates are $170 per session while rates for senior counsellors are $200 per session.

Why are senior counsellors more expensive?

Wwyd. acknowledges the depth of knowledge and skills that experienced practitioners have and rates vary depending on the expertise of the counsellor. Senior counsellors have been consistently practising in the mental health field for at least 5 years and have some form of additional specialisations or qualifications (e.g., certification in brainspotting).

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer low bono sessions with trainee counsellors who are completing their masters program. These upcoming professionals have experience working with clients and undergo regular supervision with a clinical and/or group supervisor. Rates with trainee counsellors are $50 per session.

We also have packaged sessions that are inclusive of one free session. Each package has structured content that would help to improve your coping skills and knowledge about the selected topic.

What can I expect from the first session?

The first session will mainly consist of getting to know your counsellor, and vice versa, to build a positive working relationship. You’ll have opportunities to share your reasons for seeking counselling, your background information, and any goals you may have. The counsellor will discuss collaboratively about what you hope to achieve through the counselling process and clarify any questions you have.

Will the information discussed in counselling be kept confidential?

Your privacy is essential to us and counsellors are bound by a professional code of ethics to maintain client confidentiality. No information will be shared unless under certain circumstances that the counsellor will discuss with you, such as if there is a court order involved or if there is immediate danger or harm to yourself and/or others. These circumstances will also be described in the Informed Consent form.

Can I choose to do online sessions?

Yes, we do offer online counselling. However, we highly encourage the first session to be in-person to help build a strong sense of trust and rapport with your counsellor.

How do I book an appointment? Can I walk in?

Unfortunately, we do not accept walk-ins. Please book an appointment with us at wwyd.sg/book-an-appointment/.

What is the rescheduling and cancellation policy?

To ensure that our counselling services are accessible to as many individuals as possible, all sessions (in-person and online) should be rescheduled or cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. This allows us to offer the available time slots to others who are looking to book sessions.

What other services do you provide?

We also provide workshops catered to parents and teenagers on various mental health topics, such as how to increase effective communicate. For more and/or tailored workshop to your organisations, please contact us.
